scoop app

Monster Scoop is an ice cream business that primarily operates out of an ice cream truck.

I designed the branding, app, and user experience.

I was given a set of assets to help with the app creation. It included toppings, bowls, and photos of all of their ice cream and popsicle flavors.

Other than the provided assets, I had total creative freedom to coose fonts and colors, etc.

My main goal was to create an identity for the Monster Scoop brand that is kid-friendly and welcoming to all ages.

Monster avatars

I created a series of avatars (monsters) that users can select for their profile.

You can also see which monster nearby users chose as well as what treat they purchased in the Monster Feed.

app wireframe

During my design process, I started out using greyscale so that I knew my designs wouldn’t be relying on just colors and pretty aesthetics.

When adding color, I used the blue and pink to ground the app and make every page feel cohesive.

Other ways I did that were using circles as image containers or keeping a consistent style with my illustrated icons.

call to action

This a-frame sign will inspire customers to download the app and order online or find the nearest truck the next time they get a craving.

The end product for Monster Scoop’s new brand identity and app is child-friendly, welcoming, and provides an experience that encourages users to come back.
